Signs that your child may need glasses
Here are 5 indicators that your child may need glasses:
Head tilting or turning: This behavior could indicate astigmatism, a weaker eye, or misalignment.
Covering one eye during critical vision tasks: Children may do this to avoid blurred or double vision from a weaker eye.
Squinting or straining: Kids might squint when looking at objects up close or far away.
Short attention span when reading: Sometimes mistaken for ADHD, difficulty in focusing could actually be due to poor vision.
Headaches or eye fatigue: Often perceived as the primary sign, but not the most common, indicating the need for glasses.
Interestingly, blurred vision isn't typically reported by children because they may not realize their vision isn't clear. Therefore, it's one of the less common signs, especially in young children. If your child exhibits any of these signs, it's important to schedule a comprehensive eye exam with a pediatric eye doctor.
